Cold weather in UK due to last until the end of February
Breakfast news informed viewers this morning that the UK will continue to experience the cold, foggy and sometimes wet weather we have had over the last week, until the end of February.
The technical bit: We are experiencing low pressure, which generally means rain or snow during the day, and fog or frost at night.
With this in mind, here are 5 tips to help you through these cold and wet days – and nights!
- Get making soup! Heart warming, filling soups are a fantastic way to warm up and fill up! Using lots of veggies, it’s a healthy option, and purse friendly too.
- Get the board games out! With many people still feeling the pinch of Christmas, playing board games together is a great and cheap way of spending time with each other, while working on curbing your competitiveness!
- To keep warm, instead of cranking up the heating, put your favourite cd on, and have a dance! It burns of the calories off our next suggestion and is more climate change friendly!
- Bake! Making cakes, scones and sweet treats is again a great way for the family to all pitch in together, but the best bit has to be in eating your homecooked goods!
- Don’t forget to look after your health – top up on your cold fighting vitamins – Echinacea and garlic, and wash your hands regularly to keep the cold bugs at bay!
While you are participating in any of the above, have a think about the residents of Arkhangel in Russia as it’s -16°C at the moment!
