UK lags behind rest of EU for Grandparent rights
In a report published today, the UK has shown that it lags behind many EU countries when it comes to the rights of Grandparents.
The report, compiled by Grandparent Plus, the Beth Johnson Foundation and the Institute of Gerontology at King’s College London, shows that 1 in 3 mothers in the UK rely on Grandparents to provide childcare.
The state, however, provides little financial recognition for Grandparents, in stark contrast to other EU countries.
